We don’t do favouritism around here, well that is unless one of our favourites comes around. So today we open our doors to the ‘they can do no wrong in our eyes’ That Boutique-y Whisky Company (yes you have to say the whole thing). Today (August 4th) sees the release of the first in a new wave of releases from them.

The World Series of Whiskies sees a change in how That Boutique- Whisky Company (ok we’re going to abbreviated from here on) release there bottlings. in 2019 they released 300 hundred whiskies, which in itself is a huge task and doesn’t leave for much time to actually enjoy the work. We will now see themed releases each quarter.

So in the first release we see a world tour of whisky from as far Taiwan to Scandinavia. This focus on the world release is based on the increase in Whisky lovers exploring new catergories or “new world” whiskies and the great lengths that are being taken to expand whisky horizons both from the lovers and distillers

  • Armorik Batch 1 7 Year Old from France
  • Copperworks Batch 1 3 Year-Old from USA
  • Elsburn Batch 1 7 Year Old Germany
  • Langatun Batch 3 5 Year Old from Switzerland
  • Mackmyra Batch 2 5 Year Old from Sweden
  • Millstone Batch 3 4 Year Old from Netherlands
  • Nantou Batch 1 4 Year Old from Taiwan
  • Paul John Batch 3 6 Year Old from Goa India
  • Penderyn Batch 1 6 Year Old from Wales

Of the 5 drams we were lucky enough to taste the Copperworks from the USA (you read that in chant right?) is the most outstanding, tastes like a PX cask with a beautiful cereal finish.

If you want to start building a whisky collection this would be a fantastic place to start.

If you want to make a purchase please swing on over to www.masterofmalt.com. We don’t have a code as we don’t get kick backs for telling you about great spirits
